Safety

We endeavour to engender a commitment to quality, safety and environmental sustainability in every aspect of our business. For over a decade, Speedy has taken a pioneering stance on health and safety in the hire industry and worked hard to drive standards of best practice across our business and our industry. In more recent years we have increasingly focused on issues related to environmental sustainability as well.

Maintaining high standards

This has led to a continually improving set of policies and procedures to ensure those standards are maintained by all, and a well deserved reputation amongst our customers for consistently high standards.

In the hire business and across most other service sectors in which we operate we have led the way with new solutions, products and services. In recent years we have brought new standards of communication to site operatives with our award winning "from the Ground Up Campaigns" offering easy to understand and accessible guidance on the main health & safety topics of Working at Height, Hand Arm Vibration, Dust, Manual Handling and Noise and environmental topics including waste and resource management, energy efficiency and pollution.

SHEQ team

Our Safety Health Environment and Quality (SHEQ) team form a central advice and guidance function for the whole depot network and we also carry out a rigorous audit schedule to ensure that standards are maintained. This covers our approach to health and safety, to energy use, to waste and water usage so that the Group builds a foundation of operational excellence. From this foundation we look to share operational best practice with our customers and build health, safety and environmental support into the day to day offer for our customers.
